Need a Volvo AQ130

Hey everybody,
Long time since I've been on here. Met up with Doug and Cathy Cox in Hastings (Alcan 290) and Rob and Maria aboard Limitless (370) at our dock this summer.

One of my Volvo AQ130's kacked and I'm looking for a replacement. Any leads?

Table design is something like this. (Don't laugh at my drawing) Braces made from stainless(?) flat bar maybe 1 1/2" wide, hooked on both ends to fit around top and bottom rails. Wood/stainless/aluminum/acrylic slats would bolt on. If that bend could be hinged they would fold down for easier storage...

There's an Alcan 370 in Belleville that I need some info on. I had pics of it but damned if I can find them. I'm pretty sure it was never in the registry. I hope you're right. My boat doesn't have that sealed bulkhead that some of you do, so if my drain holes get plugged up water works it's way into the bilge rather than collect in that in that forward hold. Re: Hello, everyone.

Welcome aboard James! Ask away with your questions as there are some pretty sharp guys lurking around here and collectively there are many years of experience with the Alcans. Why wait until you move in on the Bay? There are a few beauties out there for sale right now and you've got a beautiful stre...

HAPPY DOMINION DAY!

We had to spend ours on the dock due to some overheating problems, but had a great party anyway. What do you know about diesels, heat exchangers, thermostats and on and on and on... That 8' x 24' flag was originally flown at Hiram Walkers Distillery in Windsor 35 years ago. How did you spend your lo...

It sure does work!
The only problem I see is;
I bet those Chinese spammers and the old porn guys could have a ball with this.

Forward dinette table

Hey Rob, I wouldn't mind seeing photos of the table set-up forward. Mine is still the original set-up and I always find that upper area to be uncomfortable to sit in. Bench seats are too wide or something. David has set up a photo gallery section to the site that you can access from the home page, o...

I really doubt we could make a rendezvous this year(unless it was held on Rice Lake  ). We're out of the boating business a few weekends this year with three family weddings, including our own daughter's (Jennifer) late September in Orangeville. So far everything seems to be pretty smooth, but ...

WE'RE IN!

Launched yesterday in Peterborough and sailed her down to our home port of Harwood on Rice Lake. So far everything is running very smooth. Big bonus this year is high speed internet on our dock. We should be able to spend a lot more time here this year as my customers don't need to know where I am. ...

Not only do they scare the heck out of Cindy, but their poop is tough stuff to clean.

What do you guys use to control spiders on your boats?

Store bought or home made remedies? Brand names?

Skiing and hockey.

Winters were too long so we took up skiing a few years ago and I'm just now trying to learn how to skate and play hockey. Methinks I'm too old for hockey but it's exercise and fun.
Ooh my aching back.

Can't wait to get back on board.

I should be able to get up to the boat this weekend to get the screens, then probably down to Beclawat in Belleville next weekend. I'll send you an email to firm up the timing so you can get a hold of your contact to let him know to expect me. Have him keep all the specs for future reference in case...

Screens

All my screens, except the back window/door (which is missing) are in great shape. I'm pretty sure the corner radius is the same on all windows so Beclavat might only need one sample to go by, along with exact measurements for the others. I'd be happy to take all my screens out for measurement and a...

Vetex Vent

Welcome aboard Brian. What the heck is a "Vetex Vent"? I tried googling it up but got nowhere.
Seems you should know how to put these things away, having owned the Sioux for 26 years. Get some pics into David so we can take a peek.

Nice to see the list growing, even a little at a time.

WINTERIZING

Only a few weeks left... it's gonna kill me. What does everybody do in our Ontario winters with their boats. Shrink-wrap, tarp, store indoors, leave it to the elements? Anybody leave them in the water? Benefits/costs of one system over another? I'm thinking painted aluminum shouldn't need that...

How about a short letter of introduction, encouragement to join and a link to the site. We could send it out to all Marinas in Canada and ask if they would forward it on to any of their (our) boaters. Some of you state your hull number in your profiles on the registration page. Where do you find this number?

Has anyone ever figured out how many Alcan/Alwest/Alloy/Whatever were made? I've scoured the net as best I can but find very little history on our boats.
