New Alcan owner

My name is Bill Bishop. I am an avid fly angler focusing on tarpon almost exclusively. For years I ran a 54 Hatteras from Boca Grande to the remote waters of the Everglades using my boat as a mothership. I recently purchased my Alcan from Joe Foster in Grant Florida. He did a magnificent job bringing the boat to a pristine state. I am in the process of taking this project to a new level that will hopefully allow me to cover the long100 plus mile runs to the fishing grounds in less time. I am removing the pair of 170hp totally rebuilt Volvo engines and outdrives and replacing them with two new 300hp Suzuki fly by wire outboards. The process includes extensive structural improvement to the transom using, in part, custom gussets welded to the various stringers located along the hull and sides of the interior of the boat.
The engines will be mounted to custom brackets with additional gussets for stabilization. The brackets are designed in such a manner that will allow the engines to be fully tilted out of the water when not in use. Counter rotating props will be included in the package.
The data I have studied from the work performed on "Buster" has been extremely helpful in my planning. The hull data has proved very helpful and encouraging. Even so, I realize the dynamics change with the use of outboard extended 30" away from the transom. There are more questions than answers but the opportunity to tweak this package is too exciting to pass up.
I anticipate the work to be completed around the first of November 2017 in plenty of time for 2018 tarpon season in late March. Hopefully most of the bugs will be worked out by then.
Any one who might be interested in purchasing the rebuilt volvo engines and outdrives should feel free to contact me at 407-509-1511.
Further, I welcome any advice anyone might offer involving this project.
