Head Gasket Repair

Post by GOVAN »

Terry - I found two interesting websites referring to Head Gasket repair. It must be that others have found it difficult to find older head gaskets. The sites are http://www.heal-a-seal.com and http://www.Rxauto.com.
Both sites promise miracles for gasket repair.

Brian, thanks for the info. I might give one of these guys a try, what have I got to lose? I wouldn't mind if a couple of you other "mechanical type" guys offered an opinion on these products.

BTW, careful putting in those new screens. Be gentle with them as the frame is not as sturdy as the originals. Baby them in and they'll work great.

Terry,

I can't offer any more insight into these quick fixes than what I read on their websites . . . . .
but if I were in this situation, I would try this as a means to save the last half of the summer.

Based on the success of this trial (which we will all be interested in) you then have the coming off season
to decide on a rebuild/replace solution which would likely give you greater peace of mind.

Just my "2 cents" worth

Just ordered it.

Total of $145.00. If it works, cheap easy solution. If not, he claims it will not harm anything internally in the block and I can start from scratch again.
I'll keep the board informed of our progress.
