Catherine Ann

Model:  1972 Alwest 370

Owner:  Rob Farrow and Catherine Vandenbelt

Home Port:  Trident Yacht Club, Gananoque, Ontario

Hull Number:  37072181

Power:  Original (rebuilt) Engines and Generator

Catherine Ann is a 1972 Alwest 370 that we have owned since 1993. She was definitely a "handyman special" when purchased, but year by year, we have brought her back to better-than-new condition. Interior and exterior have been completely refurbished (see the separate technical article on replacement of the Alwest cabin exterior) plus an all new galley, new wiring and helm stations plus various other projects over the years. Power is still the original Volvo 170 6 cylinder engines and 270 outdrives (all rebuilt). The generator is the original 6.5kw Onan which has also been completely rebuilt and modified to run an auxiliary 80 amp alternator to quickly recharge the house battery bank. One of the more unique things about this boat is that she has teak decks. I got tired of replacing outdoor carpeting and decided to do it right, once and for all. If you are interested, please see the technical article on this project as well. Catherine Ann hails from Trident Yacht Club on the St. Lawrence River near Gananoque.
